We will see there are ways we are NOT being as patient with ourselves as we’d like, either on or off the yoga mat. Then noticing when that’s happening, we will use the tools of yoga to be more patient with ourselves. We will be talking about ojas (life force essence) this month in our intensive. What it is, how it’s connected to our immune system and immune response to life, and ways to build it so we feel strong in our bodies. My teachers would say, when you have good Ojas, it’s like having a raincoat in a rainstorm. It gives you a protective layer for our bodies (mentally, physically, and emotionally). This month we'll continue our journey of exploring the Niyamas (personal controls/disciplines), by exploring TAPAS. It is the third Niyama and translates to “self-discipline” or “training your senses.” This will be a really nice intention to work on as we head into the holiday season, which can challenge our healthy habits. We will talk about how developing areas in our life where we have good self-discipline (like yoga, meditation, and breathwork), can have powerful health benefits. April Virtual Yoga Intensive
Join me each month for a unique 3-week Yoga Intensive.
This month we’re going to be focusing on “digesting each moment.” We often move so fast in our lives that we forget to even appreciate the moments of awe and wonder we have come up everyday. So this month we’re going to ask ourselves, “am I digesting each day and each moment for all of its possibilities and all of its teachings?”
We’ll look at how noticing our body can tell us if things feel “off” or need to be addressed. We are going to put more awareness into how we are eating our food. Are we rushing and “doing” so much, that we are not allowing for the moments of pause to consume our food? And lastly, we’ll look at how we can digest our emotions. Sometimes we can get so caught up in our thought patterns and we are reacting rather than taking a moment to digest what comes up. That allows us to respond to what life throws at us, rather than constantly reacting. As always, it’ll be light hearted questions to allow you to dive deeper into your health and healing journey.
